When the Alliance was founded one of its stated aims was to offer governance with a light touch. We want to minimise bureaucracy and limit the use of unproductive meetings and so on. However, in order to maintain governance standards we do need some officers and committees to keep our house in order should the need arise. In addition to officers and committees/groups named in other areas of this website, we also have the following:
Disciplinary Committee
Required in the event of concerns arising from alleged misconduct
Membership Committee
To address queries or concerns regarding applications for membership of the Alliance
Technical Committee
A multi-style forum to discuss issues arising from aikido practice, syllabus content or gradings. Group members may advise the Membership Committee if required
(NB the Alliance does not seek to impose any style or any standards on individual Clubs/Associations. However, our insurance is limited to the practice of aikido and related arts and this Committee serves to offer advice regarding scope of practice. )
