Alliance policy requires all instructors, coaches, assistants and regular helpers working with children to undergo the Alliance safer-recruitment process. Determine whether the role is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check and whether Children’s Barred List information may also lawfully be requested. Eligibility depends on the activities actually undertaken and their frequency, not simply the person’s job title.
DBS checks apply in England and Wales. Disclosure Scotland operates the equivalent scheme in Scotland and AccessNI operates the equivalent scheme in Northern Ireland.
Aikido Alliance DBS checks are arranged at Association level. Please click here to view the Association Safeguarding Officer for your organisation.
